NCD Walleye Technical Committee

Mission Statement :
The purpose of the Walleye Technical Committee of the North Central Division of the American Fisheries Society is to promote the research and development of functional management strategies leading to the wise use of native and introduced stocks of walleye, sauger, and their hybrids, to improve culture techniques, and to facilitate the dissemination of pertinent data and technology to both the scientific and user communities.

Composition:
A Representative is to be elected by a Committee selected by the President and approved by the President. In addition, they may solicit other interested Chapter members, professionals, and students outside the Chapter for assistance. The North Central Division Walleye Technical Committee shall meet twice a year to carry out their agenda.

Duties:   The representative works with the committee members to:

  1. Serve as a consulting group for the Chapter and management agencies, and act as a clearing house for issues and information on management regulations, research, or other topics of interest regarding walleye, sauger, and their hybrids.
  2. Apply the recommendation of the North Central Division Walleye Technical Committee at a local level, and report back to the NCD Committee.
